Currently doing my PhD in Communication Sciences, specializing in Contemporary Culture and New Technologies.
The thesis is called "Between bodies and screens", and is being financed by the public organism FCT. My PhD is about how Portuguese youngsters utilize new media in a sexualized manner: be it consuming or producing content, collecting information, structuring their identities, behaviors, and so on.
My advisors are: Cristina Ponte and António Fernando Cascais.
The PhD project was publicly defended December 6th, 2010, and was awarded 17 points (on a 0-20 scale). The public defence can be listened to here, but only in Portuguese.
